About Mirzazadeh Carpets

Devoted to the knotted
thread across generations.

We are not a shop that moves merchandise. We are a house that safeguards the art of knotting — chosen with an eye schooled over years across thousands of pieces, and entrusted to those who know how to treasure a singular work.

Our heritage

An eye schooled across generations

A feeling for a fine rug cannot be learned like a single skill. It grows — over years, in the handling of the material, in comparison, in conversation with those who came before us.

It is from this tradition that we still work today: we travel, we examine, we select. Whatever falls short of our standard never enters the collection. What remains is a small, deliberately curated selection — antique and semi-antique Persian rugs, each one a unique piece with a character of its own.

With us, nothing is sold across the table; it is settled in conversation. Unhurried, in good light, with time for the questions a collector's piece deserves.

The craft

Knot by knot, by hand

A hand-knotted rug takes months to make, often years. Every knot is set and looped individually by hand — row upon row, across the full width of the piece. The fineness of a weave, the lustre of wool or silk, the depth of tones dyed with natural and carefully chosen colours: all of this determines the character and the lasting value of a rug.

It is this work that sets a fine piece apart from ordinary merchandise — and that allows a hand-knotted rug to endure across generations, when it is understood and cared for.

A rug knotted by hand knows no haste. We do likewise — taking the time to bring the right piece together with the right room.

Regions of the knotting art

Where our pieces come from

Every knotting region of Iran carries a signature of its own. A general orientation — not a promise about an individual piece, but the character of the tradition it comes from.
